I never heard of Signal app before this recent incident. I discovered a few things. The Russian GRU has been able to hack into Signal and have been targeting journalist, government officials and politicians. The Ukrainians knew this and have been sending out warnings to their officials and military commanders. The Chinese have also been able to hack into Signal. They have also created fake apps that look exactly like signal to collect data. Google cyber team recently warned that Signal has major vulnerabilities. In 2023 eSet determined Signal to be a major security threat. The DOD knew about this as well and has sent notice to their staff not to use Signal. One person in the chat group was in Moscow during signalgate . The White House says he didn’t have a phone. If had it charging in the plane, could that have been hacked ? I wonder what information was collected aside from Signalgate mission. Contacts list? Previous messages. Other documents? Attorney General refuses to investigate stating Signal is a secure app. I hope someone is looking into this to determine the extent of this incursion.

Then I see a recent article that Russian counter cyber measures are being suspended. Why is the republican congress so quiet about what is possibly the worst security breach in our country.
